As babies grow into children their minds and bodies develop at an enormous rate.
The Craniosacral system undergoes many changes, fairly rapidly at the start i.e.
The sutures of the skull do not form until the second year allowing the brain to double in size. Born with 330 bones the child will eventually possess 206 bones when he/she matures to an adult.
Remembering that all children are individuals and develop at different rates CranioSacral therapy is ideal as it listens to and encourages the self correcting mechanisms of the child’s craniosacral system and through this the entire body and mind.
A child’s treatment takes place in a quiet setting with the child resting or engaged in play. With young children some of our best work in done on a rug or under the treatment couch.
Delicate techniques are used to release tension as we gain the child’s trust.
